17 arrests for public order on Sunday night

Seventeen arrests were made on public order charges on Sunday night after the All-Ireland senior hurling final. A couple of the arrests were in Castlecomer, with the remainder in Kilkenny city, according to gardaí.

Separately, a male was arrested after being stopped and searched for drugs on Saturday. He was found with approximately €500 worth of cannabis, and was then arrested and detained. He was released without charge and a file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

In a further separate incident, a burglary occurred at a house in the Hebron Park area sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. A plasma television and DVDs were among the items taken from the house while the resident was away, according to gardaí.
