STUDENTS around the city and county breathed a sign of relief this morning as they received their Junior Cert results.

1066 youngsters sat the exams last June and it was smiles all round as they opened their results.

At the CBS on James Street principal Tom Clarke said that his students had ‘got on excellently across the board’. “There were three students who got nine A’s in higher level and a good number who got eight A’s and seven A’s. There was a large number of students with excellent results across the board. I also want to acknowledge the majority of students who have achieved their potential.

“The core subjects of Maths, English and Irish were very strong with 75% taking Higher Level Maths for the Junior Cert. There is a strong tradition of Maths and Science in the school were there are huge success rates,” he added.
