THE Church of the Most Holy Trinity, in the parish of St John’s, could be set for an extension to its existing graveyard if it gets the green light from planning authorities.
The site, in Loughmerans, Dunmore, already has a small church, community centre and small graveyard. Last week, parish priest Fr Frank Purcell applied for permission to extend the graveyard.
The Church of the Most Holy Trinity, which dates from 1817, is listed as a Protected Structure in the Kilkenny County Development Plan. It was refurbished as recently as 2009.
