Kilkenny man charged with Tramore murder

A man has been charged with the murder of 25-year-old Michael O’ Dwyer, from Kilkenny, in Tramore last Thursday night.

A man has been charged with the murder of 25-year-old Michael O’ Dwyer, from Kilkenny, in Tramore last Thursday night.

Tadhg Butler, who was formerly known as Thomas O’ Grady, was remanded in custody and will appear in court tomorrow. The 33-year-old, who is originally from Kilkenny City, has an address at Seafield, Tramore.

He will also be psychiatrically assessed and monitored while in detention.

The victim, Michael O’ Dwyer, suffered a fatal stab wound at a house party late on Thursday night. He and some friends had been drinking in a pub in Kilkenny during the day, and together they travelled down to the party in Tramore.

Mr O’ Dwyer was originally from the Newpark area of Kilkenny City, but had more recently been living in Stoneyford with his family.
