A NEWLY improved training centre on behalf of PW Thermal Building Solutions in Urlingford is aiming to add 10-15 jobs in Urlingford and employ a further 150 people nationwide through their contractors.
The training centre, which has been officially opened by Environment Minister Phil Hogan, was built to offer on-site training to contractors from across the country in PW Thermal Building Solutions’ external insulation products.
The centre will provide information and guidance on the heating, insulation and ventilation of homes, and the company is offering contractor training free of charge at their training centre until the end of this year.
PW Thermal Building Solutions has 10 direct employees in Urlingford and indirectly employ approximately 165 people, through 25 contractors nationwide, who fit their external insulation systems. With the new Training Centre they are hoping to increase direct employees in Urlingford by 10-15 people and employ a further 150 people nationwide through their contractors.
At present most of the work is concentrated in Dublin and Leinster, but over the coming years the company is planning to expand into all counties. Minister Hogan complimented PW Thermal Building Solutions Ltd on the new venture. “Having provided specialist insulation products for over 30 years, it is now a most opportune time for this company to provide specialist training in the area of conserving energy,” he said. “We are now in an era of scarce energy resources and it is important that companies such as PW Thermal Buildings Solutions are given every encouragement and support in ensuring that we are to the forefront in energy conservation.”
PW Thermal managing director Frank Moore said the company’s aim was to “ensure that all of our contractors are fully certified and trained to the highest standards in the application of our systems, and that all contractors are aware of the guidelines set out by the NSAI/SEAI.”
PW Thermal Building Solutions was formed in 2009 by the Sherling family to launch the Powerwall spaceframe building systems. Powerwall expanded to enter the retrofit market and are supplying insulation and renders for over 30 years.
