Plans for a GAA training facility at the site of the Dunmore Recycling and Waste Facility have been approved by Kilkenny County Council.
The planning permission includes plans for two GAA pitches, one with flood lighting; a building with four team dressing rooms, a referee dressing room, machinery store and toilets; and new entrance gates and fencing to the site.
The site, which once formed part of the overall Dunmore Landfill site, is due to be leased to the Kilkenny GAA County Board by Kilkenny County Council.
The plans also include 70 car parking spaces and two bus bays, with overflow parking provided on the opposite side of the access road serving the recycling centre. It is a condition of the planning permission that no vehicles will be parked on the public road.
The development charge that will be due to Kilkenny County Council upon commencement of works is €10,000.
