A GRAIGNAMANAGH national school has received planning permission for an extension, writes Tess Felder.
Kilkenny County Council has approved planning permission for Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal National School for “alterations and single-storey extension to (the) existing school to include a general purpose hall and ancillary accommodation.”
The plans include the construction of a single-storey, pitched roofed, general-purpose hall with a single-storey, flat-roofed, link corridor structure connecting the hall to the existing school. The link building consists of a link corridor, toilet facilities and storage.
Representatives from the school pointed out in their application that there is currently no general-purpose hall in the existing school and that this proposal is extremely important for the improvement of the school facilities.
