Kilkenny roads remained closed - Nowlan Park roof damaged

This tree fell on the Granges Road this afternoon, opposite St Canice's primary school. No one was hurt.
As a result of an ongoing assessment, the Major Emergency Kilkenny group has said the following roads remain closed in Kilkenny city:

As a result of an ongoing assessment, the Major Emergency Kilkenny group has said the following roads remain closed in Kilkenny city:

Kells Road, Hebron Road leading onto Dublin Road, Dublin Road at McDonagh Cross.

At this stage we have no reports of serious injuries.

All roads around Nowlan Park are closed due to wind damage to roof of Nowlan Park. Public advised to avoid the area to facilitate emergency services.

Good news is that the motorway between Dublin and Waterford at Mullinavat is completely cleared.

The coordination group wish to make the following appeal to the public: Avoid unnecessary travel; Stay indoors if possible; Motorists travelling home should reduce speed as debris may be scattered along their route.

Meanwhile no one was injured when a large tree fell on the Granges Road opposite St Canice’s primary school. Luckily the school collection had run had been completed.
