Gardai are not treating as suspicious the circumstances surrounding the death of a 37-year-old man whose remains were found in a derelict house on the Castlecomer Road.
Gerard Wisniewski, who is originally from Poland has been living in the city for the past four years. He has no previous convictions. He was separated and has two young children. His ex partner contacted the gardai last Tuesday (November 26) and raised concerns.
Gardai went to a derelict property where the deceased man had been living rough and found Mr Wisniewski’s remains. The deceased man had a chronic alcohol addiction and his death is believed to be alcohol-related. His remains were taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem took place.
