Kilkenny school favourite restored to former glory

From this week’s Castlecomer Notes in the Kilkenny People
The bell from the Castlecomer Boys’ School has been refurbished and this week and is now placed in the sanctuary of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
The old Boys School closed for the last time in 2025 and was replaced by Scoil Íosagáin.
For many years it called time in the Boys’ School. It now has a new lease of life when it will be used to call us to pray at the beginning of Mass. Tony Patterson, former principal, recalls that it was in his early years as Principal that the bell was installed in the school. The bell now continues a connection between the school and our parish.
