A young rugby player with strong Callan connections is heading to Paris at the end of next month.

Niall Comerford has excelled at rugby sevens and he has been picked on the Rugby Sevens men’s Olympic squad.

Niall’s dad Philip is known for his achievements on the hurling field with John Lockes. Philip currently lives in Kildare and rarely misses a Kilkenny hurling game.

Niall's family will now head to Paris to see him play in the biggest sporting event in the world.
