Kilkenny RFC have sent their best wishes to 1st XV scrum half Steve Atkinson who played his last game for the club against Gorey RFC on Saturday.
The former Munster Schools, UCC and Garryowen player who has lived and worked in Kilkenny since 2016, has been an ever present in the local team's 1st XV and featured yet again in the club's 13-11 last weekend.
"Steve never gave anything less than 100% in the Kilkenny jersey and we hope to see him wear it again in the future," a spokesperson for Kilkenny RFC said.

"For the moment though he joins the sizeable contingent of ex Kilkenny RFC players who have emigrated to the Southern Hemisphere.
"Indeed upwards of 11 players who have played 1st XV rugby for Kilkenny in the last three years are now in Australia. Best wishes Steve and thanks for everything."
