The Ollie O’Neill Memorial Day will be held on Saturday and will honour Ollie, celebrating his love of boxing, hurling, and community.

'Ollie’s Way' was officially opened by the Paulstown Development Association in 2025 following his passing the previous year.

O'Neill was a founding member of the Paulstown Boxing Club and coached many fighters of national and international acclaim from their base at the Community Centre.

His eldest son Darren captained the Irish Boxing Team at the London Olympics in 2012, the same year his native Paulstown Boxing Club celebrated 40 years in existence.

The Paulstown native was also a well-respected GAA referee since the early 1990s.

Activities start at 2pm on Saturday with a fun run around 'Ollie’s Way'.

At 5pm there will be a boxing tournament in the boxing club. All funds raised will go towards the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
