The European and Kilkenny Local Elections 2024 will have their ballot boxes opened and verified at the Lyrath Estate Convention Centre on Saturday morning, June 8, at 9am.
The counting of votes for the Kilkenny Local Elections will commence following the verification process.
Event Details:
Kilkenny County Council and Kilkenny Live will provide timely updates throughout the process to keep the public informed. Due to capacity limitations and in accordance with Fire Safety and Health and Safety regulations, access to the count centre will be by ticket only. Priority access will be given to candidates, their agents, families and tally people.

Total Council Seats: 24
Total Candidates: 50
Local Electoral Areas:
Callan/Thomastown - six seats (nine candidates)
Castlecomer - six seats (nine candidates)
Kilkenny - seven seats (20 candidates)
Piltown - five seats (12 candidates)
