After forty years of service in An Garda Siochana, Sergeant Ted Hughes bade farewell to his colleagues yesterday.
Ted , a proud Donegal man spent the past thirty years in Thomastown District and was well known for his fairness his kindness and great humour.
He will be greatly missed by colleagues and locals but no doubt will be open to coffee and a chat around Thomastown when he settles in to retirement.
"Congratulations and the very best of luck Ted," his garda colleagues stated.
