Warning issued after river rescue in Kilkenny

Community volunteers in Graignamanagh are reminding locals to swim in designated swimming areas only following a recent rescue operation.

The incident saw a woman get into difficulty after being caught by a current while out swimming at the weir, near The Hub.

A swift response from local gardaí and fire services saw the woman saved from the rushing water, where an ambulance was on standby.

She suffered no injuries and was later released from hospital.
