Lar Power
Leitrim County Council Chief Executive, Lar Power, has written to the elected members in Leitrim to inform them that he has been recommended for appointment to the position of Chief Executive of Kilkenny County Council.
"Following a process that has now concluded, the Public Appointments Service has contacted me to say they are recommending me for appointment to the position of Chief Executive of Kilkenny County Council.
"That now sets in train a process in Kilkenny County Council. Subject to the success of that process, it will lead to my appointment as Chief Executive of Kilkenny County Council and my resulting departure from Leitrim County Council in the coming months," Mr Power said.
The Wexford man said that he will "leave with a very heavy heart as I immensely enjoyed every second of my time in Leitrim County Council over the last 5 years and 5 months."
Prior to his stint in Leitirim, Power served as Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Economic Development and Planning in Waterford City and County Council from 2014-2018.
Prior to that, he served as a Director of Services at Waterford City Council for over a decade.
