More dumping reported in scenic area of Kilkenny

Last year saw mattresses being dumped at the scenic Slate Quarries in the heart of the Linguan Valley

Weeks after a bag of rubbish was attempted to be thrown over a ditch into a stream, another one with very similar type contents was found scattered at the opposite side of the same entrance.

The manure bag contained a rusted circular saw blade, attic type insulation, damp barrier, paint and spray paint tins, rat bait bucket, two stroke oil bottle, soft drinks bottles, and wrappers alongside the usual array of recyclable drinks cans and an entrance ticket to a regular Sunday event.

The issue of dumping in the scenic Windgap-Tullahought area, home to the Lingaun Valley and Slate Quarries, has been a constant thorn for hard-working local volunteers in recent months.
