Kilkenny priest to feature in two new TV projects

Kilkenny priest centre stage in the media spotlight

Comedian Ardal O'Hanlon and Fr Willie Purcell

Clara Parish priest, Fr Willie Purcell, is set to feature in two new TV projects.

Over the past week, a German documentary team has been shadowing the Kilkenny priest for a documentary on priesthood in Ireland.

The documentary filming included scenes from mass in Clara Parish Church, Clara Primary School and Kilkenny City Vocational School as well as showcasing Fr Willie's work on local radio and his annual trip to the National Ploughing Championships.

Fr Willie's busy week was capped off with a sit-down interview with comedian and former Father Ted actor, Ardal O'Hanlon, as part of a new programme exploring vocations in Ireland.

Keep an eye on Kilkenny Live and the Kilkenny People newspaper for more details in the coming weeks.
