A montage of photos of Jo Jo Dullard
The heartbroken sister of missing JoJo Dullard has penned a poignant tribute on the 28th anniversary.
Kathleen Bergin said she "will keep a candle of hope lighting" for the 21-year-old waitress who was last seen at a phone box in Moone village at 11.37pm on November 9, 1995, as she hitched a lift home.
In 2020, the missing persons case was re-classified as a murder investigation as a result of a review by the Garda’s Serious Crime Review Team (SCRT).
Addressing her sister on social media, Kathleen said: "Hi Jo, we have arrived at this time of year again, the 9th of November, 28 years since you went missing.
"It's a difficult time as another year has come to an end with no answers.
"Every time I pass our home place, I can't help but think of you and our lives together in our childhood home. I can you see on the sofa watching Sesame Street while mam knits next to you and you walking down the road in your little blue wellies with Freeway, our family dog, by your side.
"These memories are precious to both me and Nora and all our family and friends. You were here Jo, and you touched the hearts of all who knew you. You will never be forgotten.
"We will keep the candle of hope lighting for you, to help you finish your journey home. We love and miss you Jo and we know you are up there with Mary, Tom, Mam and Dad."
Kathleen concludes with a public appeal for information, no matter how small, to "help us bring JoJo home."
She listed the following numbers:
Garda Confidential Helpline: 1800 666 111
Missing Persons Helpline: 1800 442 552
Help Bring Them Home confidential line: 1800 911 999.
