A new fire station in Kilkenny City has taken another step closer to completion following confirmation of the design team on the project.
HLM Architects have been awarded the contract to complete works on the new 3-acre site at the Kilkenny Business and Retail Park on the Waterford Road.
The current facility, situated on Goal Road in the city, has become increasingly inadequate to meet the demands of a growing population and modern firefighting requirements.
It is not yet known when the project will be completed.
