Kilkenny native departs high-profile National Lottery role

Kilkenny man Fran Whearty has announced he has stood down from his role with the National Lottery. 

"After eight incredible years, I wanted to take a moment to share with you that I will be stepping down from my role at the National Lottery," Mr Whearty said in a statement.

"Your support over the years has been incredible and I want to thank you for sharing our stories of our big winners and of course, the incredible individuals and groups who are recipients of Good Causes funding. I am sincerely grateful for your support," he added.

"Once again, thank you for everything and I look forward to finally being legally able to buy a Lotto ticket for Saturday's draw!!!," Mr Whearty concluded.
