With the help of Betway, the most beautiful cities, towns and villages in Ireland that can’t be missed have been revealed, with Kilkenny placing as the top destination for minibreaks in Ireland.
The popularity of each location was measured by a unique index score - based on the number of hashtags and views each coastal gem has racked up on Instagram, as well as TripAdvisor rankings - with the lower the overall index score the higher the ranking.
According to Betway, "Kilkenny is a stunning and distinctive spot that does not compare to many spots in the Emerald Isle.
"It brings a unique charm with plenty of natural beauty, art, and culture to explore. The ancient capital is a modern city that holds a vibrant but friendly atmosphere you are bound to fall in love with."
It’s no surprise that one of County Kerry’s most gorgeous oceanfront towns, Dingle, followed behind in second place alongside quirky and charming seaside village Doolin.
Designated heritage town Adare also made the top six, as the quaint village is made up of gorgeous thatched cottages and cobbled streets - and is the home of picture-perfect Adare Manor house, which is a must-see for any visit.
Kerry town Kenmare should also be on your list of places to visit, being a quieter alternative to Killarney, as it's described as a haven of tranquillity.
There is no doubt that you will find yourself rambling around the Diagon Alley-like streets as you come across one of the largest stone circles in South-West Ireland.
Dunmore East in County Waterford could be a great spot to visit with its secluded coves and gorgeous views of the world’s oldest functioning lighthouse at Wexford’s Hook Head.
Meanwhile, the charming village of Carlingford is a perfect option if you’re looking for variety - with it being loved for its many hikes and water sports while being steeped in history.
