Man hospitalised in Kilkenny after burglary

A man in his twenties was hospitalised in Kilkenny after a burglary in Laois on Sunday morning, July 7. 

Gardaí are investigating the break-in at a commercial premises in Killeshin at approximately 6am on Sunday.

A garda spokesperson stated: "A male in his 20s was transferred to St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No items were reported as stolen.

"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Killeshin Road between 5.45am and 6.30am on Sunday 7th July 2024 are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100, the Garda Confidential Line or any Garda station. Enquiries are ongoing."
