Kilkenny woman to compete in National Brown Bread Baking Competition this week!

Eight finalists from across the country including a Kilkenny representative are set to compete in the finals of the National Brown Bread Baking Competition, supported by Euronics in association with the NPA and ICA, next week from Tuesday, September 17 to Thursday, September 19 at the National Ploughing Championships.

Among them, Kilkenny woman Helen Cunningham of the Seven Houses ICA Guild who will be in the hunt for first prize (€5,000 cash prize and a NEFF Slide & Hide oven).

On Tuesday and Wednesday in the National Brown Bread Baking Competition tent (row 10, tent 148 beside the ICA tent) four bakers will begin their bake-offs from 12pm where MC Alison Curtis will be there to calm the nerves as they battle to make it to the finals on Thursday.

The winners will be announced each day at 2pm where the overall winner will be announced this Thursday, going home with an incredible prize and all of the glory.
