Kilkenny petrol station forced to close due to fire

The Mace/Inver petrol station in Freshford was forced to close its doors on Sunday evening following a 'small fire' on the premises.

The Kilkenny business thanked emergency services for their efforts with the store re-opening at 6am this morning (Monday).

"Thanks to our quick acting staff and public for their help," a company spokesperson posted to social media.

"Also thanks to the fire service and emergency services for their quick response. Also to the public for their understanding," they added.
"To the fire brigade and Gardaí this evening, It’s great to have the local fire brigade and Gardaí so near. They dealt with everything so professionally and efficiently. Thank you so much from all of us here at Mace Freshford," a further social media post added.
