A Kilkenny man who matched five numbers plus the bonus on last Wednesday's Lotto draw (securing €56,625) has picked up his prize from Lotto HQ in Dublin.
The winning ticket was purchased in Newsplus Extra on Kieran Street in Kilkenny and the winner (who remains anonymous) shared some details about the win.
"Ever since the lotto started 37 years ago, I play it every week using my family’s dates of birth," he said.

"I usually check and replay my tickets every Tuesday, but as soon as I saw the news that the win was in Kilkenny, I immediately went online to check the numbers.
"I had to check it so many times, I couldn’t believe it.”
The winner and his partner celebrated into the long bank holiday weekend, while the winning ticket was “well-hidden" at home.
The pair shared their love for travel, and plan to invest in a shiny new campervan to take them road-tripping across Europe.
