Gardaí in Kilkenny ask certain people to ask themselves: "What side am I on?"

Gardaí in Kilkenny have taken to social media to share a statement in relation to use of certain technology by some road users.

"Technology is brilliant and navigation technology has transformed getting around for millions of people," the statement began.

"Recently a lot of the navigation software has facilitated people putting up alerts. This is excellent when it means highlighting a collision or a broken down vehicle.

"What about a checkpoint? Good to warn people of that is it? Maybe you've just warned a drunk or drug driver? Maybe you have warned someone transporting drugs or a firearm? Possibly they're on their way to or from a burglary.

"Maybe before you add your input ask yourself - what side am I on?"
