Kilkenny venue pay tribute to their 'heart and soul' Rudy, after his recent passing

Prominent Kilkenny venue, Lyrath Estate, have taken to social media to pay tribute to Rudy, their beloved canine companion and estate dog, who passed away recently.

"A few weeks ago, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Rudy - the heart and soul of Lyrath Estate," they posted on social media.

"From greeting guests with his gentle eyes to lounging in the lobby like he owned the place (because he did), Rudy brought warmth, joy, and a little bit of magic to everyone who met him.

"Rest easy, Rudy. You’ll always be part of Lyrath."

Rudy was loved by many of the guests who visited Lyrath over the years, and the news has been met with an emotional response.

One person wrote: "I am so sorry for your loss. I met the gorgeous Rudy on a visit to Lyrath a few years ago and he was just adorable. I've no doubt he brightened up many peoples' lives over the years. Run free Rudy."

Another posted: "What a beautiful dog.Thank you Rudy for your company for afternoon tea we had together."

Rudy was an estate dog who loved nothing more than introducing himself to new guests, alongside his companion Reilly.

Rest In Peace, Rudy.
