As part of the Jubilee Year of Hope programme, the Diocese of Ossory is pleased to announce a special pilgrimage to Lough Derg, organised by the Ossory Youth Ministry Team and led by Bishop Niall Coll.
Lough Derg, the ancient penitential site associated with St Patrick, is a place of profound spiritual heritage. For centuries, pilgrims have journeyed to this sacred island seeking healing, peace, and a deeper encounter with God. Renowned for its tradition of prayer, penance, and renewal, it remains one of Ireland’s most significant spiritual destinations.

"This pilgrimage offers a meaningful opportunity for the people of Ossory to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their faith during this Jubilee Year," said a spokesperson for the Youth Ministry Team.
"Lough Derg invites us into a space of quiet transformation that speaks powerfully to the spiritual hunger of our time."
An Information Evening for those interested in participating will be held on Friday, May 9 at 7.30pm in St Patrick’s Pastoral Centre Loughboy, Kilkenny.
The pilgrimage will depart from Kilkenny on Friday, May 30 and return on Sunday, June 1.
This pilgrimage is open to adults aged 18 and over. For further details regarding travel and registration, please contact the Ossory Diocesan Office at 056 7762448 or via email at admin@ossory.ie.
