Kilkenny Limestone have donated a large block of fossiliferous limestone to the University College Cork (UCC) to assist with third level studies at the college.
"What a beauty. Large block of fossiliferous limestone that Kilkenny Limestone are so kindly donating to UCC," Professor Maria McNamara, MRIA, Professor of Palaeontology at UCC, said.

This will be a hugely welcome addition to our Geology garden, where we hope it will inspire generations of students to pursue careers in geoscience," she added.
"Delighted to see this stone find a new home in Cork," a spokesperson for Kilkenny Limestone commented.
