Local Senator, Malcom Noonan was presented with a strange but humerous parting gift earlier this week, as the former Carlow-Kilkenny TD was given a swear jar by intern Jane.
"In an effort to cut down on the use of unparliamentary language around our offices, she presented me with a swear jar as a parting gift. It's working well; I swear," Mr Noonan said.
The Kilkenny senator also paid a glowing tribute to his ex member of staff.

"Jane was an invaluable part of our team in Leinster House over the past few months on an internship from Trinity College.
"Míle buíochas Jane. It was wonderful to have you here and contributing so much to our work. I hope that you enjoyed it and learned lots (of new Irish swear words), wishing you all the best in your studies and career. I know that Your talents will shine wherever life takes you," he continued.
