Kilkenny County Council has issued a warning to the public that unlicensed fireworks are illegal in the Republic of Ireland.
"The use of fireworks is not only dangerous, but causes great distress to a large number of Kilkenny residents (and their pets)," a council spokesperson said.
"It is viewed as anti-social behaviour by Kilkenny County Council and will be reported to An Garda Síochána."

Earlier this month, Kilkenny Live reported that residents in several parts of Kilkenny City and Callan were at their wits end and were pleading to an end to anti-social behaviour and nightly fireworks.
In the Lakeside area, teenagers are understood to be congregating on the pitch of a local school late into the night while fireworks are being set off in the surrounding estates. It has also been an issue in the city centre. - READ MORE HERE
