Gardaí in Kilkenny have taken to social media to raise awareness around an ongoing issue that they have been encountering.
"One of our lads, off duty, spotted a driverless VW Golf a few minutes ago just outside Kilkenny," a garda spokesperson posted earlier today (Friday).

"As the vehicle approached though, a young driver was peering over the steering wheel.
"This is a strange fashion and not at all wise. Manufacturers have made great efforts to ensure that their cars suit all shapes and sizes so that the drivers have a good view of the road ahead and proper control of their vehicle.

"It's not rocket science but safety awareness. Please ensure that however trendy you might like to look, a view of the road is not negotiable."
