LATEST: Frustration at St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny as some patients await bed

St Luke's General Hospital

There are 10 patients waiting for a trolley in the emergency department at St Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny today (Friday) and a further 10 patients waiting on the ward according to today’s (Thursday) INMO Trolley Watch figures.

The latest figures reveal a decrease of 14 people waiting for a bed in the local hospital in comparison to yesterday (Thursday).

Nationally, there are 542 patients waiting for beds, 226 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 332 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital. Statistics that mark a mild improvement on figures from yesterday.
