Kilkenny man scoops title of 'Bar Manager of the Year'

Manager of The Dylan Whisky Bar in Kilkenny City, Jim Rafferty, scooped the national 'Bar Manager of the Year' award at the 2023 Icons of Whisky Ireland awards.

The Dylan Whisky Bar was also highly commended in the 'Bar of the Year' category.

The Dylan is an old Victorian-style bar that specialises in fine whiskies. 

Their whisky library now contains nearly 200 of the worlds finest whiskies, 40 premium gins & is continually growing.

With comfortable leather seating, private snugs, an open turf fire & walls adorned with whiskey mirrors, old advertising and Bob Dylan memorabilia; this bar provides a warm cosy atmosphere in which to chat with friends while enjoying your dram.

The winners were announced last week in Dublin where 22 awards were handed out across five different categories.

The awards were split into five categories: Bar Awards; Communication Awards; Retail Awards; People Awards and Producer Awards. 

First introduced by Whisky Magazine in 2007, the annual Icons of Whisky awards aim to celebrate the achievements of outstanding people and places in the global whisky industry, including distilleries and staff, retailers, bars and industry communicators.
