A new scam is doing the rounds on social media purporting to be giving away free chocolate via an online giveaway.
Gardaí have taken note of the scam and posted a screenshot (below) of what it looks like, although it may be altered slightly each time by cunning fraudsters.
A garda spokesperson posted the following statement about the scam, warning people not to click the link attached to such posts:
"We all love chocolate and what could be better than free chocolate?
"Not getting scammed is what!
"This doing the rounds, don't click the link!"
