Just recently the local cycling club Deenside Wheelers made a trip to the Alicante region of Spain part of the Valencian Province.

Based in Calpe, which is situated on the Costa Blanca coastline and adjacent mountain areas, a full week’s cycling was undertaken with some very unseasonal and challenging weather conditions to deal with.

Approximately 8,000m of elevation was completed over the week which included some local mountain climbs like the Coll de Rates and the Port de Tudons.

Well done to all members involved, a successful week’s cycling and a safe return. If you are interested in becoming a club member you can make contact through the Deenside Wheelers Facebook page for further details.

Club spins are every Sunday morning leaving the club house the old fire station Castlecomer at 8.30am. New members are welcome.
