Man in court over aggravated burglary in North Kilkenny town

​A man who is accused of aggravated burglary along with multiple other offences had his case sent forward to the current sittings of Kilkenny Circuit Court.

​​Jack Slattery, Quakers Lane, Killeshin, Co Carlow appeared before Kilkenny District Court last week where he was served a book of evidence.

The defendant is accused of aggravated burglary contrary to section 13 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act at an housing estate in Castlecomer in North Kilkenny on May 11, 2026.

He is also accused of two counts of criminal damage contrary to section 2 of The Criminal Damage Act and making a threat to cause damage to property contrary to section 3 of the same Act. The defendant is further accused of two counts of making threats to cause harm or to kill contrary to section 5 of The Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act at the same location at the same date.

Solicitor Gerry Meaney said that the DPP had consented to the defendant being sent forward to the present sittings of Kilkenny Circuit Court on June 1.

Gda John O’Halloran gave evidence of the service of the book of evidence and the matters were sent forward to the current sittings of Kilkenny Circuit Court.
