Irish consumer group warns of electric shock risk from fairy lights sold on popular site

Consumers who purchased fairy lights sold on a popular online site are being advised to discontinue use.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), a safety issue has been identified on a 200-strand LED Fairy String Light product sold on the Wish platform.

The product presents a risk of electric shock as it failed to meet the requirements of the relevant safety standard.

The Wish ID is 619ca42415a37991f9eb418d.

Given the online availability of this product on the Wish platform, it may have been sold to customers in the Republic of Ireland.

Consumers may wish to contact Wish to see if there are any remedies available, which can be done via your user account on the Wish platform.
