Victims of Cresslough explosion remembered, two years on

Two years ago today ten people lost their lives in an explosion at the Applegreen complex in Creeslough

Originally from Wedza in Zimbabwe, Robert Garwe was married to Áine and relocated to Donegal.

He worked in construction and spent a number of years living in Dublin.

Robert had gone to the shop in Creeslough with the couple’s only daughter, Shauna Flanagan Garwe. Robert was often seen travelling around Creeslough on his scooter.

The youngest victim of the explosion, Shauna Flanagan Garwe had just started primary school at Scoil Mhuire in Creeslough a few short weeks before the explosion.

The five-year-old was in the shop with her father. They had gone to buy a birthday cake for wife and mother Áine.
