WATCH: Touching moment a community rallies together to save sheep trapped among the snow

A community has come together to help one family and their sheep who have been trapped in 'the worst snow fall in decades.'

Sharing a post of to X, a spokesperson for Carlow Weather said: "Brothers Tom John William and their nephew Billy Cunningham along with their Hill Sheep Farming neighbours are out on the Galtees with the last few days digging out their sheep who have been trapped in what has been the worst snow fall in decades.

"They have managed to save a lot of their sheep with the help of their sheep dogs Sue Sally Hemp and Ted who were able to sniff out the sheep and show them where their sheep were buried but they will have a lot of losses too. They won't know the final count until possibly next week.

"These hazerous conditions are going to have a huge impact on the whole of The Hill Sheep Farming Community. Well done to all involved and the amazing dogs."
