Man in his 40s left in 'critical condition' following serious assault in Monaghan
Gardaí are investigating a serious assault in Monaghan which left a man critically injured on Tuesday night, 14 January.
The assault occurred in the Park Road area of the town late on Tuesday between around 10pm and 11pm.
A man, aged in his 40s, received life-threatening injuries in the assault and was brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Gardaí say that the man has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin and his condition is described as critical.
