The National Lottery of Ireland have revealed the list of winnings from 2024, revealing the luckiest and unluckiest counties in Ireland when it comes to Lotto wins.

Winnings over the course of the year exceeded over €81 million and unsurprisingly Dublin winners collected the most in terms of prize money with over €21m of that total staying in the capital. 

Limerick winners collected the second-highest total with almost €16m in prize money making its way to the Treaty county from Lotto HQ in Dublin. Galway was third (€8.8m), Mayo fourth (€7m) and Cork fifth (€6.6m) on the list.

However, it terms of the number of wins per county, again Dublin is the luckiest. It had a whopping 33 lotto tickets sold in 2024 for prizes exceeding €10,000. 

Not too far behind the Dubs was Cork in second (22), followed then by Kildare third (10), Limerick in forth (9), and Wexford and Galway taking a joint fifth spot with 8 wins a piece over €10,000.

The top 5 counties with the highest values of combined wins are (all stats only include only prizes over €9,999):

1. Dublin - €21,231,638.00

2. Limerick - €15,803,016

3. Galway - €8,782,015

4. Mayo - €7,094,403

5. Cork - €6,631,024

Top 5 counties with the lowest of combined wins (1 being the lowest):

1. Carlow - €18,495

2. Offaly - €20,012

3. Roscommon - €55,171

4. Sligo - €62,082

5. Westmeath - €66,201

Now looking to the counties that managed to receive the highest individual wins in the Country:

1. Limerick - €8,970,93

2. Galway - €7,028,440

3. Dublin - €6,788,177

4. Limerick - €5,501,086

5. Mayo - €5,419,866

Those not included in the county per county breakdown are those won in the Play Online category, which accounts for €4,452,318.
