Man arrested after gardai discover 1.9m euro of cocaine and cannabis

A man has been arrested after gardai discovered 1.9 million euro of cocaine and cannabis at a premises in Co Wexford.

The search was carried out as part of Operation Tara, which led to gardai seizing the drugs in New Ross on Friday.

The search of a premises was carried by members attached to Wexford Crime Unit.

During the course of the search, 89kg of cannabis with an estimated value of 1.76 million euro and 2kg of cocaine with an estimated value of 140,000 euro was found.

The drugs seized will be sent for further analysis.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested in relation to the discovery.

He is currently detained under pursuant Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a garda station in Co Wexford.

Investigations are ongoing, gardai said.
