ALERT: Electrical sockets urgently recalled in Ireland amid ‘risk of fire and burns'

Corry’s has issued an urgent product recall of trailing electrical sockets sold across Ireland as they have been found to pose a serious safety risk.

The recall affects the Rugged Trailing Electrical Sockets, which were on sale in Ireland between September 1, 2025 and November 28, 2025.

According to the official Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) safety alert, that due to “a manufacturing fault may cause the product to overheat during use."

"In a small number of cases, the cable may melt under load, creating a risk of fire and burns.”

Around 1,850 products are believed to be affected in the Republic of Ireland, and customers are being urged to act without delay.

The affected products have a moulded plug top.

The CCPC states: "If you purchased one of these products, please stop use immediately and unplug the trailing socket safely. If you purchased one of these products, please return it to your point of purchase for a refund or replacement, no proof of purchase is required."

The recalled product is identified as those sold between September 1, 2025 and November 28, 2025 with the part numbers: 272119, 272121, 272122, 272123, 272124, 272125, 272126, 272127, 272128 and 272130.

Trailing sockets purchased before 01 September 2025, or after 28 November 2025, are not affected by this recall.
