Gardai are investigating after a man aged in his 40s was found dead at a house in Co Cavan.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 3am on Wednesday after the man’s body was found in a house on Connolly Street, Cavan.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai said they were investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
The scene was preserved for examination by the garda technical bureau.
The Office of the State Pathologist and the local coroner were notified, and a post-mortem examination is to be arranged.
Gardai said the results of the post-mortem examination will assist them in determining the course of the investigation.
