Gardai are investigating the discovery of the body of a woman in “unexplained circumstances” at a home in Cork on Friday evening.
They said emergency services responded after the woman, in her 30s, was discovered dead in Ballincollig, Cork City.
They said no one else was in the house when her body was found and it was brought to the morgue at University College Cork for a post-mortem examination on Saturday.
Gardai said the results will determine the course of the investigation and the coroner has been notified.
The area has been sealed off for a technical examination by Scenes of Crime Cork City and a family liaison officer has been assigned to support the family of the deceased.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
