Grants still available for local festival groups

Local festival and events organisers still have an opportunity to apply for funding from Kilkenny County Council under the Festival Grants Scheme 2016.

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to individuals and groups which promote, support and develop events with a tourism, cultural, artistic or community significance here.

At last week's meeting of Kilkenny County Council, Cllr Peter 'Chap' Cleere said that a sum of €115,000 has been set aside for these groups, and urged them to avail of it.

"It's a fantastic resource," he said.

"The window is quite tight, so let's get it out there."

Application forms can be downloaded from or from City Hall. Completed applications and any necessary documents must be submitted before Wednesday, February 3 at 5pm to Brian Tyrrell, Senior Executive Officer, Kilkenny County Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny.
