The local community will be out in force next Wednesday showing their opposition to the homophobic and misogynist views of a South African preacher.

Angus Buchan is due to speak at Cilin Hill on August 24. He was also scheduled to speak in Belfast but this was cancelled following complaints.

Protestors will meet close to Cilin Hill at 5.30pm. All are welcome to join the protest.

“This is a peaceful protest - this man's views are offensive to the public and to do nothing would be condoning it.

“We want to send a clear message that these views are both unacceptable and that they are blatant lies,” said Alan Slattery who is one of the event organisers.
